Why do we work so hard to communicate?
WHY DO WE feel self-conscious, awkward, and not able to express what we really want to say? Why do we feel our voice is disassociated from our body, so that sometimes our breath is shallow or held, our muscles are constricted, and our voice stays in a narrow range? What causes the disconnect between our thoughts and the ability to easily and powerfully express them?
Good voice work addresses these patterns. Many things influence our voice and presence- but learning to recognize our habitual patterns of interference can open a world of new choices. When one does away with vocally destructive habits, and re-trains the body to expand from its confines, the results can be exhilarating.
